This is a great question!

Every business needs to be PROFITABLE in order to keep the doors open, and every business owner wants to GROW PROFITS to take home as much as they can for their efforts.

Without good bookkeeping practices, it's difficult to know how profitable you are, and more difficult still to learn how you can do better.

If you are like most small business owners you have a pretty good handle on your sales, but where did all the cash go? What monthly expenses are costing you the most and how can you do better? Which products and services are earning you the most profits? Are you profiting enough to invest in equipment or hire help? 

Having answers to questions like these on the regular is why considering bookkeeping for your business is the right move.

You have to KNOW your numbers to GROW your profits.

Bookkeeping as I offer it looks like this:

• I gather all your transactions from your bank accounts, credit cards, and payment processors (Paypal, Square, Stripe).
• Categorize them in the way that best speaks to you and your business.
• Reconcile them so you know exactly how much available cash you have, nothing gets missed and your books are ready for your CPA at tax time
• Provide monthly reports with snapshots, highlights, and insights as to how your business is doing and where you can make changes to boost profits. 

Although I'd be delighted to meet you in person if you are local, all my work is done remotely, so no worries about having another body in your business underfoot. 

I make getting started quick and easy so you can start feeling relieved and move on to better uses for your time right away! 

I work with you to request read-only online access to banks, credit cards, PayPal, Square, Stripe, etc., and your invoicing system (if separate).

Almost all of these allow a read-only accountant log in and I will help you figure out how to set one up so your data is secure.

This allows me to work efficiently and get your books done each month with little involvement from you. You get back to running your business undistracted by your books and get the finished product with all the info you need on the 15th of each month. Win-Win! 

No, you don't.  I understand this isn't your zone of genius, and I take it off your hands. 

Part of my on-boarding process is to get you set up with clean books from either the first day of business or the first day of the current year, whichever you prefer.

I understand this is part of the process and am here to help.

The first few weeks of our working together is spent on getting the past cleaned up and your books set up. Then going forward your books are ship-shape. Easy as that. 

Once your books have been set up, I maintain them monthly.

At the beginning of each month, I will pull your reports and categorize your transactions.

You will receive one e-mail of questions/clarifications where needed and once those questions are answered you'll receive your report with highlights of what the numbers are telling you.

You will have your books by the 15th of the month, if not sooner.

Sometimes it's easier to start with a clean slate, so don't fret if you're not using software yet. I will guide you as to the best fit for your needs and help you get set up.

My preferred software is Xero.

Your CPA is an invaluable resource and you will continue to work with them.

What I will do is deliver good, clean, accurate books to your tax preparer on time each year -which will make their job easier.

I'll also be a liaison between you and your tax preparer, helping you to ask the right questions as your business grows and assisting with any questions your CPA has for you. 

My monthly bookkeeping services start at $400 a month and vary based on your complexities and needs.

When we work together to implement good systems that allow us to deliver high quality, accurate data, most clients will fall into this minimum.

If you need your books caught up, there will be a one-time set up fee at a discounted rate.

You are billed on a monthly auto-pay subscription and we accept payment by credit card.
